Oliver Tatar spent 27 years building freight forwarding companies in the Baltics and Nordics. By 2022 he had a profitable business, experienced drivers, good customers and a paper problem that never went away. Waybills printed, signed, lost, re-printed. Dispatchers chasing signatures by phone. Cargo disputes with no audit trail. Everyone in the industry had the same friction. Everyone had learned to live with it.
He hadn't. So he started building the tool he'd always needed.
Ybil grew out of the IT team behind ATV Transport, people who understood logistics from the inside, not from a product roadmap. The company was founded in 2023. When the EU announced eFTI, making digital freight documents mandatory by July 2027, the timing became clear. The industry would have to modernize. Ybil would be ready before that moment arrived. By 2025 it had its first 100 customers in Estonia.

Ybil Wins €150K Investment at TechChill 2026
In March 2026, Ybil competed at TechChill Founders Battle in Riga, one of Europe's most prestigious startup pitching competitions and walked away with a €150,000 investment commitment from the Latvian Business Angels Network (LatBAN).
TechChill 2026 drew over 2,000 participants, 300+ startups, and 250+ investors from more than 40 countries. With over €600,000 in prizes awarded across the competition, the Founders Battle is among the most competitive stages in the Baltic startup ecosystem. Ybil was selected as one of just four finalists, earning its place alongside some of the most exciting emerging companies in the region.
The LatBAN investment prize is a direct validation of Ybil's traction, team, and the scale of the opportunity ahead, digitizing the logistics industry across Europe at a moment when regulation, technology, and market demand are finally converging.
